Hi
As I understand Catalook can support multiple portals. I want to do this but I also want to restrict the visible categories for each portal.
Looking through the interface I have found a "restrict by vendor / seller" - is the right place? if I assigned a made up seller name to each category could I manage the visibility this way?
thanks in advance!

When a product is added it is linked to the vendor.
Each product is then normally assigned to one or more advanced categories.
Advanced Categories can be made visible or not on each portal.

I'm not quite clear on how this works
If I go into "advanced categories", after selecting a category, I choose edit.
now the only obvious control is 'import ID'
which says
"Portal level unique key field for advanced categories import data synchronization. Import DB fieldname: AdvCatImportID."
now what do i enter here?
if i edit the options on the browse module, I can see the options to
Vendor restriction
Seller User Name or User ID
Show Seller Selector
Search in current seller's items only
which implies I can restrict the visible products by vendor/seller.
Which one would be best to use if I want to share different products across different portals - some portals may share the same product categories.
Is there no way to restrict on the standard categories / top level?
sorry theres lot of questions!
